Marx Yonezawa Mr. Mercury Robot

Circa 1964, made in Japan probably by Yonezawa for Marx a trading and importer based in the USA. Last in the series of three, the first Mr. Mercury was blue/silver with plastic arms and non lighting miner's type lamp in helmet, second was blue/silver with metal arms and lamp deleted, then this one later. Battery operated by 2 x D cells in remote control with walking action, bending, arms move up and down and in and out to pick things up. Rare to find one still fully working due to fragile diecast cams, also which hasn't been opened for repairs. Mine as shown, fortunately has not been opened and after a bit of persuasion after years of slumber was coaxed back into life, also has original box and insert and the usually missing and intact instruction leaflet how to operate Mr. Mercury.
