Horikawa Radar Robot blue with Television Screen
Circa 1972, made by Horikawa of Japan, the blue Radar Robot with television screen showing Moon and space scenes. Mainly tin plate with plastic arms, feet & head. There are two other version of this particular robot astronaut, silver version with red spaghetti antenna ( see next photo) named Space Explorer, and and the usual Horikawa dark grey/black colour known I believe as Space Explorer. Other variations have flip down covers across the TV screen. Also there are numerous other television robot by various manufacturers, the Horikawa version as per this style though remains the best in my humble opinion. The Alps Television Spaceman though remains outstanding for its quality and action and remains the top TV robot spaceman. Horikawa Radar Robot & Space Explorer can be difficult to find complete with antenna, personally I like the blue one, although the silver version is nice.
