James Bond 007 Aston Martin DB5 & other toys http://mrmercury.webs.com/apps/photos/ James Bond 007 Aston Martin DB5 & other toys Corgi 270 1st issue early version silver James Bond Aston Martin DB5 1/43 scale Corgi 270 1st issue first version James Bond Aston Martin DB5, this model was introduced circa 1970 replacing the 261 gold version. I believe this is the best version, featuring extending rear tyre slashers, pop out front machine guns and bumper overriders, pop up rear shield, revolving front and rear number plates with different registration numbers, and of course the ejector seat to remove the baddie. This early version with thinner more delicate roof pillars is distinguishable from the following version which has has thicker rounder off pillars, also the early version has silver bumpers and front grille, but can also be found with gold bumpers, with some detail differences on the underside under the boot floor. The three shown are all early first version 270 models with the thinner roof pillars known in the motor trade as 'A', 'B' and 'C' posts, 'A' being the windscreen pillar and 'B' being the centre post. The last version 270 came with whizzwheels and flared wheel arches to accommodate the wider wheels, the tyre slashers and revolving number plates being deleted. Following later on it was enlarged to 1/36 scale and renumbered 271, then 271/1 as Corgi reemerged after going bankrupt in the mid 1980s and production moving to China afterwards. http://mrmercury.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=204527622 204527622 Ivory Cream White interior - Corgi 271 Aston Martin DB5 James Bond Rarely seen Corgi 271 James Bond Aston Martin DB5 with a ivory/cream/white interior supplied in the larger box with detachable header card which often gets lost. Totally original GB model made before manufacture was transferred to China. As we all know this model 271 normally has a red interior. http://mrmercury.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=202367009 202367009 M101 Aston Martin DB5 Secret Agent Ejector Car James Bond 007 DB5, remote control. M101 Remote Control, Aston Martin DB5 Secret Ejector Car from the James Bond 007 Goldfinger and Thunderball films, not mentioned as such due to the maker not having a licence to make James Bond related toys, unlike Gilbert Toys who made a similar non remote control version which is a lot easier to find. Made In Japan circa 1965, the manufacturer is not known to me, although Bandai has been mentioned. This particular box is marked Durham Industries, 200 Fifth Avenue, New York, another I have is simply marked 'United' Made in Japan. Both are believed to be distributors putting their name on the box. Remote control with 3 'D' cell batteries, mystery bump and go action, firing machines guns and rams extending from front bumper, rear bullet screen rising up and down at rear and baddie passenger ejected though sunroof by pressing a button on remote control. My favourite James Bond toy car. http://mrmercury.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=197459275 197459275 Frankonia Aston Martin DB5 James Bond 007 711 This has a Frankonia label on box indicating they were the distributors. Made in Japan by unknown maker. This tin plate friction flywheel version of the M101 remote control car as described in this album, this version has 711 registration plates so as not to infringe on copyright but which is similar to 007. Push along with all the features expected of the 007 Goldfinger car. Rare to find in good condition and especially rare to find with the box, James Bond driving and the normally missing baddie passenger. http://mrmercury.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=96522938 96522938 M101 Aston Martin DB5 Secret Agent Ejector Car James Bond 007 DB5, remote control. James Bond Secret Ejector Car, Made in Japan, 1960's made by 'United' or sometimes said to be made by Durham, and sometimes Bandai. Remote control operated with 3 D cell batteries, bump & go action, bullet proof shield goes up and down, machine guns extend from grille, light up and make machine gun sound, passenger can be ejected by pressing eject button on remote. The fact this one makes no mention of James Bond probably means it did not have a licence for production. Rarer than the similar non remote control Gilbert version. Although there is a friction version of the M101 which has 711 registration plates and is rarer than the M101. http://mrmercury.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=12381626 12381626 James Bond Aston Martin DB5, Thunderball box 007 (O) 1960's. Made in Japan originally by Gilbert, with Gilbert and 007 embossing on underside covered by labels so was probably not licensed. Works on 2 'D' cells, bump & go, bullet proof shield moves up and down, front bumper with machine guns extend and light up making shooting sound and passenger can be ejected through sun roof. The box depicts Bond in the 1965 film 'Thunderball', escaping from the French Chateau in his DB5. Known as the Chateau box. http://mrmercury.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=3990495 3990495 James Bond Agente Especial Aston Martin DB5 - Guisval Toys Spain 001 Agente Especial JAMES BOND ASTON MARTIN DB5, Made in Spain by Guisval Toys. http://mrmercury.webs.com/apps/photos/photo?photoID=181550138 181550138 Gama Aston Martin DB5 - Germany (O) Goldfinger 1960s ?
